Substance (1987) New Order

 

Substance (também conhecido como Substance 1987) é uma compilação da banda de dança alternativa inglesa New Order. Foi lançado em agosto de 1987 pela Factory Records. O álbum compila todos os singles da banda naquele momento em suas versões de 12 polegadas, junto com suas respectivas faixas B-side. O então recém-lançado single não-álbum "True Faith" também é apresentado, junto com seu lado B "1963" e novas versões de "Temptation" e "Confusion".

Substance foi lançado em vinil, CD duplo, cassete dupla e fita de áudio digital. Vendeu mais de um milhão de cópias e se tornou o álbum mais popular e aclamado pela crítica do New Order.

É o companheiro de uma compilação de singles semelhante pela banda predecessora do New Order, Joy Division, também intitulada Substance.
